A closeup of Lee's horns. Originally, when Azrael took his hat off after killing Mrs. Reynolds (named affectionately for Lee's fascination with the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds), his horns were already in place. Toward the end of the edit, Scott and I decided to CGI the horns out and let them break through his scalp after the hat comes off, for a flashier reveal. That shot alone cost about 1/20 of 'Clerks' whole budget. We've come a long way (though I'm still a pretty crappy visual director).
